Take your tee shot down the middle on the slight dogleg left opening hole. Be sure your approach on this par-4 carries all the way to the green. Any shot left short will roll back toward the fairway.
An accurate tee shot just left of center will give you the chance to reach the par-5 second hole in two. Steep drop-offs lie beyond the right fairway bunker and along the entire left side of the landing area, so finding the fairway from the tee is critical.
The par-5 third hole is the signature hole at Oxmoor Valley. Position your tee shot to the right of the 250-yard stake, then layup just past the 150-yard stake. The green, buttressed by a shelf of exposed shale rock, is deeper than it appears from the fairway.
Keep your tee shot well left of the right-side bunkers on the par-4 fourth hole. Add one club on the uphill approach shot to this well-guarded green.
On the par-3 fifth hole, you must avoid the bunker in front of the green. Aim for the center of the green if the hole is located near any edge of the putting surface.
Play to the right center of the fairway on the par-4 sixth hole to avoid the deep ravine. You will be left with a mid- to long-iron approach to an elevated green guarded by a pot bunker in front.
Tee shots to the left center of the fairway are ideal on the short, par-4 seventh hole. Take an extra club on the uphill approach to avoid the bunkers to the right of the three-tiered green.
Hole No. 8 is a downhill par-3 that plays one or two clubs shorter than the listed yardage. Wind is a major factor in club selection. Try not to come up short or go over the green.
On the uphill, par-4 ninth hole, tee shots should favor the right center of the fairway. Take an extra club on the uphill approach shot and be sure to avoid the bunker on the left side of the green.
Be careful not to drive the ball through the left side of the fairway on the dogleg right par-4 tenth hole. However, cutting corners is also dangerous. The smart play is to aim for the 150-yard stake to leave the best approach angle to the green.
Favor the left center of the fairway on the par-4 eleventh hole. On the approach, select a club that will carry all the way to the green as there will be no run-up shots here.
Long hitters can reach the par-5 twelfth hole in two. The left fairway is a bit shorter, but much narrower. Staying right of center is best for your tee shot. Favor the center or left side of this extremely deep green with your approach as the right side falls off sharply.
Aim for the center of the green on the par-3 thirteenth hole if the flag is on the right side. No matter where the flag is, stay below the hole to avoid a quick, downhill putt.
The par-4 fourteenth hole plays deceptively long. Stay right of the 150-yard stake from the tee and add on e club on your approach shot.
Hole No. 15 has two sections of fairway separated by a steep drop-off. A long hitter should leave the driver in the bag and lay back to safely find a flat lie. Play for the center of the small green with a high, soft approach.
Take enough club to carry your tee shot to the center of the green on the par-3 sixteenth hole. Going long is much better than coming up short and falling into a deep bunker or down the steep slope in front of the green.
Keep your tee shot left of the center on the dogleg right par-4 seventeenth hole. A back right pin is the toughest to get close to. Do not take the bait and go for it, there is a bunker to the right and trouble behind the green, so just play for the left center of the putting surface.
Hole No. 18 is a monster par-5 that is rarely reached in two. From the tee, aim at the chimney of the clubhouse in the distance. There is a steep drop-off along the left side and short of the green, so stay right of the 150-yard stake with your layup.
