Ross Bridge Director of Instruction Neil Thompson and professional golfer Kelly Villarreal from the Golf Channel’s Big break are hosting a series of three golf clinics just for women. The clinics are a great opportunity for women to unwind from the office or the kids for a day with a cocktail in hand! Learn the basics of golf and afterwards win spa treatments, botox, makeovers, clothing, golf equipment and lots of other goodies! Cost: $129 for one clinic or $299 for all three clinics Beginner Classes Register OnlineSaturdays 8:00-9:00 am (March 30-June 1) and 7:00-8:00 am (June 8-October 2013) and Wednesdays 6:00-7:00 pm (April 3-June 5) and 6:30-7:30 pm (June 12-October 2013)These lessons span a 10-week period designed to teach you all the basic skills for you to enjoy your time on the golf course. Begin the classes at any time and move at your own speed. Two classes are offered each week, one on the weekend and one on a weekday evening. You can attend both. Skills taught in the classes are putting, chipping, pitching, bunker play, half and the full swing. Each session a skill will be taught and the following session you will be tested on the retention of that skill. After passing the test, you move on to the next skill. If not, you will work that session on perfecting the existing skill. At the end of the course, you will be tested on all the skills in a big test. These skills will be short and lag putting, chipping, pitching, bunker play, full swing with an iron, full swing with a wood and the rules of golf. If you pass, you will receive a graduation present of a free month's play on the Short Course at Oxmoor Valley. Obviously, this is a great incentive and will allow you to put your new skills into practice. Cost: $299 for ten weeks Break 100 Classes Register OnlineGroup SessionsSaturdays 12:30-2:00 pm - June 8, June 22, July 13 This is a follow-up to the Beginner Classes or for anyone who has never really progressed at the game beyond the beginner level. The lesson program offers three 1/2 hour individual lessons and three 1 1/2 hour group lessons. The 1/2 hour lessons are designed to improve full-swing technique or hone one's short game. The first group lesson will be on the short game and the last two playing lessons on the golf course. For the duration of the class, the group lessons will be offered every other week. Ideally, the individual lessons should be scheduled between these group sessions. Cost: $199 Individual Club Clinics Register OnlineDrills designed for you to make solid contact. All abilities welcome.The Driver (Sunday, April 21 from 1:00-2:00pm) - Are you getting the most distance from the tee? Hit on the Trackman system and we can ensure you are getting the most from your speeds. Irons (Sunday, April 28 from 1:00-2:00pm) - For consistency solid contact is essential. Using the Trackman system, we can see how solid your shots truly are and offer drills to ensure consistent contact is made. Sand Wedge (Sunday, May 5 from 1:00-2:00pm) - Understand how to use the bounce correctly and any dread from around the green and the sand will disappear. Putter (Sunday, May 12 from 1:00-2:00pm) - Putt like a Pro! Learn how pros approach putting: from picking out a line, to executing the putt, to practice habits. Cost: $30 for one session, $100 for all four sessions Scoring With Your Short Game Register OnlineThursdays starting April 4: 6:00-7:00 pmThis 12 week class will cover all aspects of the short game 100 yards and in. We will first identify the essential skills your short game will need the most by using our short game test. We will then create a plan to turn the skills into habits. We will improve your short game by using objective measures and competition to motivate you to maximum improvement. This class has a 75% average success rate. Cost: $349 per student Specialized Shots Clinics Register OnlineShort-Game TechniquesLob Shot (Saturday, May 4 from 8:00-9:00am) - Learn to hit the high, soft shot around the green. Know when to use it, the ideal wedge to use and how to be successful from various lies and turf conditions. Sloped Lies around the Green (Saturday, May 11 from 8:00-9:00am) - So you have a decent short game technique but you have to take it to the course. However, no shot is ever the same and each lie or slope has its own nuance. Learn subtle changes to your technique to deal with these slopes and, most importantly, which clubs will work best in each situation. How to Read Greens (Saturday, May 18 from 8:00-9:00am) - Three things need to happen for you to make putts: Start your ball on its intended line, have the desired pace and read the break of the putt correctly. By far the most overlooked is the last component. In this class you will learn techniques which will help you open your eyes to how you look at putts and have more confidence that you are seeing the correct line. 50-75 Yards (3/4 Wedge Shot) (Saturday, June 1 from 8:00-9:00am) - We have all been there: two good shots leaves you just short of a par five in two and you walk away with a 6 or 7. This clinic deals with golf's "no-man's" land...too long to pitch and too short to hit a full shot. Learn how to flight these shorter shots so you can give yourself a birdie putt every time. Greenside Bunker Play (Saturday, June 8 from 7:00-8:00am) - A shot that fills many with fear! Learn the best way to get yourself out of the sand, select the appropriate wedge and take the dread away. This could be the most effective lesson you'll ever have. Full-Swing Techniques Sloped Lies (Saturday, June 15 from 7:00-8:00am) - How to tackle those uphill/downhill and ball above/below feet shots faced during a round. Let's face it, once we are off the tee box we are faced with these shots all the time so wouldn't it be good to know our technique is sound and we are selecting the best club for the job. Shot Shaping (Saturday, June 22 from 7:00-8:00am) - Learn how to move the ball right-to-left and left-to-right to play better in the wind, attack pins on the sides of the greens and escape from trouble. Trajectory Control (Saturday, June 29 from 7:00-8:00am) - Learn to flight your full shots high and low so you can attack those front and back pins and and play better in windy conditions. Cost: $39 for one clinic, $69 for two clinics in the month, $119 for all four clinics in the month Brush Up on Your Basics Register OnlineSundays from 2:00-3:00pmThis series of three lessons is designed to ensure sound fundamentals. This course is not just designed for the beginner golfer as swing faults invariably occur from a poor address position. At the end of the three lessons, you will have a better understanding how your setup position relates to your golf swing. The Grip (May 5) - Learn to hold the club correctly and learn techniques for the perfect wrist release. Posture (May 12) - Learn an athletic, balanced setup to give you the perfect platform to develop a powerful, repeatable swing. Aim, Alignment & Ball Position (May 19) - Understand these three interwoven aspects in relation to shot-shaping and how you can transfer them to the shots you hit on the golf course.
